Jackson Clark

March 21, 1950 - August 28, 2025

We are deeply saddened to share that Jackson passed away yesterday after suffering a stroke on Tuesday.

Jackson loved this business—especially the artists he worked with and the clients who appreciated their work. He often said he couldn’t imagine retiring, because this life was such a part of who he was. A gifted storyteller, Jackson frequently shared glimpses of his own life and experiences with you through this newsletter. His humility, warmth, and approachable nature endeared him to so many over the years. Jackson had a strong connection with the Native American artists who created the beautiful artwork in the Gallery. He became close friends with generations of weavers, painters, and silversmiths.

Jackson felt blessed to be able to work with family in the Gallery. His mom, Mary Jane, and sister, Antonia, worked alongside him in the Gallery, at the Santa Fe Indian market, and at rug auctions in Denver and Salt Lake City. His son, Ed, worked in the wholesale trade for Toh-Atin for a time. Jackson called it a milestone when four generations of Clarks were at the 2017 CU Rug Auction in Denver. He enjoyed speaking at his son Nick's yoga retreats, loving the opportunity to expose a new audience to beautiful Native American art.

Jackson loved skiing, cycling, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. It’s been said that some people are so afraid to die that they never begin to live. That could never be said of Jackson. He lived fully, loved deeply, and truly enjoyed people.

Memories of Jackson

We hope you can join us to remember Jackson on September 29 at 1 p.m. at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College.

For now, we wanted to take this moment to remember Jackson, his warmth, his crazy sense of humor, and how much fun he was. You meant so much to him!
