A serigraph is a printing technique that forces ink directly onto a piece of paper through a stencil creating an image on a screen of silk or other fine fabric with an impermeable substance. Its color areas are of paint rather than printing ink. Jan Thompson's work is the art of serigraphy, sometimes known as silkscreen.

Lithographs are made by a chemical process in which an image is created by the artist on a stone plate and transferred to paper.
