Pottery - Santa Clara Avanyu Serpent by Golden Rod, CCIL-07

A small Santa Clara pot with Avanyu Serpent by Gloria Garcia or "Goldenrod"(b. 1942). Gloria comes from a line of potters. She likes to create smaller pieces that are etched. Most of them have a single theme on half the pot. Then the other half has high polish. She works in redware an blackware. This particular piece has the Avanyu Serpent which is honored in a lot of Pueblos in the area. This piece measures 3 1/4 inches in diameter and 2 1/4 inches in height.
