His great grand parents are Maria Martinez and Julian Martinez. He grew up around potters and helped make pottery. He works with his wife, Frances Martinez and they keep the matte black on black designs alive. This charming bowl has no cracks but some minor scuffing around it. The signature is visible on the bottom of this piece. A great addition to your collection from a renowned family of potters.
