A Jemez Pueblo storyteller by Clifford K. Fragua. He mines from a clay mine source that yield a specific color. He gathers the clay. It is ground, sifted and mixed with water. This part is where is coils and shapes his pots to what he desires. The storyteller design is common among Pueblo tribes. It is a way to share stories and oral knowledge. It is often a woman that does the storytelling. There is such thing as a male storyteller and sometimes have more stories to share. This storyteller has thirty children. The woman measures 14 inches in height, 9 1/2 inches in length and 6 1/2 inches wide. It is signed on the bottom. This storyteller is brand new.
