Painting - Navajo Folk Art, "Cats" by Mamie Deschillie, OATOH24-08

A framed folk art painting, "Cats" by Mamie Deschillie. Mamie lived a traditional Navajo lifestyle. She was a sheep herder and wove Navajo rugs. She married and had 5 children. After her husband died in 1979, her art career began. She created mud toys, paintings on cardboard and other recycled materials. This framed piece measures 25 3/4 inches in length and 19 3/4 inches wide. It has glass over it. This piece is in excellent condition.
