  • Marie G. Romero, was a member of the corn clan and born into the Jemez Pueblo in 1927. She was inspired to continue the family tradition of pottery making by her grandparents at the age of 8. She did make storytellers and all shapes of pottery. She gathered her own clay on a sacred area within the Jemez Pueblo. She hand coiled, painted, and fired outdoors. She signed this piece under the pot. This pot has no damage or cracks. It is visible where she used slip on the front and her painting was flawless. An elegant pot to add to your collection.
