Basket - Vintage Penobscot Braided Sweetgrass, CCRH-269

A vintage Penobscot basket with braided sweetgrass. The Penobscot are located mostly in Maine area. There are various forms of baskets that are in circulation. They all have this same type of material except for the sweetgrass. That may be unique to the artist: Mary Gabriel. She is a well known Penobscot basket maker that makes similar work. This piece measures 8 inches in diameter and 4 1/2 inches in height. This basket is in excellent condition.
