Anishinaabe basket with quill work and birch bark. The Anishinaabe are a large group across the Great Lakes and into Canada. The create a large variety of work and quill work on birch bark is one of them. Since there are more groups in this tribe we try to speak generally. It has some wear to it. The bark naturally does began to dry along with quills. There are some quills missing. However, the piece still is very beautiful. It measures 6 inches in diameter and 2 3/4 inches in height. The maker is unknown.
