Tskawona Kachina - Chester Poleyestewa, KCP14-04

Chester Poleyestewa has been making katsinas since he was a young boy. He makes them in traditional style and uses natural ingredients for his paints. The tskawona or Chakwaina has a couple different spellings. It is mentioned that his story came from the Zuni by the Asa clan. He represents Estevan the Moor, who led Fray Marcos de Niza in search of Cibola.This kachina appears in January and described as a warrior. A historic piece to add to your collection.
