A Tohono O'odham dog basket made out of beargrass, yucca and devil's claw. These types of baskets became popular for tourists and weren't necessarily utilitarian. It is a contemporary piece that utilizes traditional techniques that are shared among the Tohono O'odham and Pima tribes. The body is hollowed out and head is detachable but fits snug. This basket can be displayed or used to store small dry items. This dog basket has a tight weave and no breaks in yucca. There is slight discoloration from age. A handmade basket to add to your collection.
