This is a Sioux beaded hide that is used for a baby carrier cover. The beadwork has some parts that came undone but still attached to string. The hide is hand sewn and is visible on the back. There is a rip in the hide that is about an inch. There are marks where the pattern was originally used for the beadwork layout. The overall piece is still in good shape. This piece was used to cover a baby while be in a carrier. The strings are tied in the front part after the baby was swaddled inside. Most likely with an additional blanket. An exquisite piece to add to your collection.
