  • Legoria Tafoya was born into Santa Clara Pueblo in 1911. She learned how to make pottery from her grandmother Margaret Tafoya in 1930. She started by making molded figurines from Tewa mythology and then began making blackware pots, etc. She won a award at Santa Fe Indian Market in 1940 for a plain polished bowl and continued to make pottery til her death in 1984. This is a beautiful piece that represents a family of potters. It has no cracks and is in perfect condition. This is a historical piece to add to your collection.
