Josephine Vigil worked together with Albert on their pottery. She made the pottery and Albert painted the designs. Albert was the nephew of Maria Martinez and son of Romando Vigil who was a well known artist. Josephine learned how to make pottery from watching her aunt inlaws, Maria Martinez and Clara Montoya. Maria also taught her how to coil, shape the clay and Clara taught her how to polish. They began making pottery in 1945. This piece is signed by Josephine, 1974. It pot is in perfect shape like brand new. A handcrafted pot to add to your collection.
