  • Paul “Chief Flying Eagle” Goodyear (1913-1954) was raised in Oklahoma where he went to elementary and high school. After serving in the United States Army in WWII, he began to focus on his art, many pieces of which were reproduced in school books. He worked in Santa Fe at the

    School of American Research and the Museum of New Mexico. He was also a teacher and a traditional dancer and singer. One of his favorite mediums was silk screening.  This image, dated 1941, was made prior to his enlistment in the Army. Titled “Cheyenne Buffalo Dancer,” it measures 6” x 8” and 13.76” x 11.75” framed.
