  • A Santa Clara wedding vase with Avanyu Serpent design by Nicolasa Naranjo. Nicolasa made traditional blackware most of her life. This pot being a wedding vessel is often given or used in Pueblo weddings. Also, the symbol of the Avanyu Serpent is well know in the Pueblo community as a bringer of rain. It measures 15 1/2 inches in height and 9 1/4 inches at the widest. It is in good condition. The signature is on the bottom.
