This painting is called, "Long Gone" by Walt Harris. Walt was a Otoe- Missouria Native American Indian. He was born near Red Rock. He began to draw when he visited his grandfather. He attended the University of Oklahoma on a scholarship for football. He later quit playing football to play professional baseball. After injuring his arm he worked for the Ponaca City newspaper full time for 18 years. He began to work on portraits as a hobby. He liked to work with watercolor.
This painting is gouache which is a water based paint. It has realistic figures across the painting that seem to float. The choice of colors complement each other. The white space in the color gives it some balance. Its a beautifully done painting.
