Navajo weaving of the Tree of Life with colorful birds, some are perched on the corn while some are sitting on flowers or flying around. The corn stalk represents the tree and it is one of the four sacred plants to the Navajo people. The corn stock is growing out of a Navajo ceremonial basket. This textile is unique in the fact that there are not many Navajo weavings with an all blue color field. This weaver is showing her Tre of Life to be outside under a clear blue sky and her eye for design and color make this a delightful wall hanging.
