Navajo weaving 1930's Pound Rug with that fantastic orange red and all natural hand spun wool in white, black, brown and grey. Navajo weaving has gone through many transitions, which many of those were directed by the men that ran the Trading Posts in the different areas of the Navajo Reservation. The Pound Rug was a period of time when the weavers were getting paid for their rugs by the pound. So the wool was spun thick, it was not cleaned of debris and lanolin as well as finely spun wools and hence these rugs will hold up forever. Measures 71 by 57 inches.
