Navajo weaving Kachina Dance Pictorial by Florence Riggs. Born in 1962 into a family of Navajo weavers, Florence grew up in Tuba City, AZ. Florence Riggs is now recognized as a leader in the contemporary pictorial weaving movement. She uses traditional techniques, but buys commercially dyed yarn and draws her subject matter from magazine illustrations as well as her own experience of contemporary Navajo life. Florence has work in the Heard Museum and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in PA. Measures 34 by 46.5 inches.
