  • Genita John started weaving in the 1970s and was taught by her mother-in-law Isabell John.  Isabell was well known for her distinctive traditional Pictorial weavings that showed life on the Navajo Nation, that had a unique color pallet that she always used. Genita uses a similar color family and style in the pictorials she weaves. This weaving is from 1986.  This finely spun, woven and vegetal dyed textiles measures close to 2 by 2.5 foot size.
