Navajo Weaving - Burnham, C006947

Burnham Weaving.

Marjorie Charley.

Measures 20 by 33 Inches.

  • Contemporary Pictorial by young Burnham area weaver Marjorie Charley.  The Burnham weavers are known for their modern textiles that combine figures, Yei and Navajo sash or Two Grey Hills designs.  The weavings are finely spun using natural colors and a mix of vegetal and aniline dyes.  The Eagle feathers often find a place in the rug to honor the elders who pass on the tradition of Navajo weaving.
