Navajo Weaving-Burnham-003931A

Marie Begay Burnham weaver spins and dyes all of the wool in her exquisite weavings.  This impressive Navajo weaving measures 28 by 39 inches.

  • All natural handspun wool by Burnham weaver Marie Begay who loves to weave the Two Grey Hills pattern with Burnham accents of feathers or corn.  The Begays raise their own sheep and sheer them and Marie then cleans, cards, and spins the wool for her exquisitely woven textiles.  All the colors come from the sheep with the exception of the black which is over dyed with a black aniline and the browns are sometimes enhanced with a bath in Walnut shell.  Watch Marie weave on our web-site and on YouTube.
