  • Natural hand spun wool in off white, carded grey and an aniline black on a cotton warp. The Whirling Log is a sacred and ceremonial Navajo symbol. It originated from the sandpaintings that were preformed for healing. In the early 1900's the symbol appeared in many Navajo rugs and textiles.  This rug has had some repair done to one end.
