There aren't too many Navajos that make pottery. Lorraine Williams is one of the few who started making pottery. She was raised in Sweetwater, Arizona by traditional parents. She married George Williams who is the son of Rose Williams, an established potter. She began to make pots and fires them outside. Afterwards she would add pitch on the inside of the pot which is a traditional technique used to make a pot impervious. In 1993 she took the best in category prize for excellence at the Gallup intertribal Indian Ceremonial. This pot is solid with no damage. It has a natural hues with texture. It is a beautiful pot to add to your collection.
