Chris Fragua was born in 1943 in Jemez Pueblo and was taught by his mother, Grace Fragua and grandmother, Emilia. He comes from a family of active potters and married to Vera Fragua whom he collaborates with at times. He gathers clay from around Pueblo of Jemez and creates his work in the traditional way. He uses natural slips and fires his pottery outdoors when the weather allows him. He specializes in animals and humorous figures. Chris's pottery has been in the Heard Museum and has won prestigious awards. This piece is a mudhead storyteller with young mudheads listening. This piece is well made with no cracks or damage.
