Dan Bodelson was born in Minnesota in 1949 but spent his childhood in Colorado and New Mexico. He graduated from Santa Fe high school then went to California to pursue an art degree. He worked as an illustrator in San Francisco but ended up going back to Santa Fe to paint. Dan paints Native American Indian portraits, their lifestyles, Western influences and landscapes. He also paints places that he travels to.
This oil painting has a man on a horse and it looks around the turn of century during the western era. The mountain landscape and sky are very well painted. He is a lone traveler and the look on his face is serious. He is aware and ready with his gun in hand. A time when danger lurks around each corner.
