Santa Clara potter known for her black ware, Christina Naranjo, made pottery from 1925 to 1980. She was the daughter of Sarafino and Geronimo Tafoya. Christina coiled, shaped, polished and carved many different shaped bowls ,wedding vases and utilitarian objects like candle stick holders. Her favorite designs were the Kiva stair steps and the Avanyu water serpent. This piece measures 7.5"H x 11" W with an opening of 5". A carved Avanyu design encircles the entire bowl.
