- A Navajo ceremonial basket. This basket measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height. It is made out of Sumac splits and rods. This basket has some fading. This type of basket is used for ceremonial purposes. The most common are for weddings and puberty ceremonies. It is in good condition.
