Chester Polyestewa's kachina dolls each feature a style that is similar to those of the early 1800's. This kachina is crafted from a dead cottonwood root and features all natural paints and dyes. This style of kachina is one that has been passed down generation to generation. The sio hemes is hand painted and is finished off with adornments that Chester adds, such as feathers, goat hair, shells and turquoise. Sio Hemes is commonly known as one of the most beautiful kachinas. The kachina stands 25 1/2" tall and the widest point measures 8".
