Nellie Shorty Begay was born in June of 1957 and has been actively weaving since the 1970s. She is best known for her Classic Revival and Chief's style textiles. Nellie began winning awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market for her beautifully executed weavings in the mid 1990s. This handsome blanket with the black and white stripe has a subtle stripe of indigo running along side a burgundy and dark brown. Measuring 3 by 4 feet this would a be great wall hanging, as contemporary today as it was over a hundred years ago.
