  • Laverne Barber is always trying new design concepts in her creative weavings.  Laverne is a Burnham weaver and uses a similar style of a combination Pictorial, Two Grey Hills and Old Style patterns to create her own unique voice in her weavings.  The central diamond is surrounded by feathers and each end of the rug has bands of figures, butterflies and turtles.  The butterflies and turtles represent feminine and creative energy. There is a single feather at one end of the rug and this is Laverne's signature.  The size of this weaving is unique also at 2.5 by 5 feet.
