This is an old type of kachina who appears in the mixed kachina dances. He is named Navuk'china which translates to cactus kachina and is all hand carved. The cactus was formally used by the Hopi for food and typically wears a head dress made of prickly pear fruit paddles. He carries around wooden tongs in order to handle the cactus pads. The kachina measures 13" tall, the widest point measures 3 1/2" and the diameter of the base measures 3 5/8".
