In May of this year, a collector we have worked with for many years contacted us about a small collection of very nice Indian art that he had decided to sell. We picked the paintings up in Denver and are featuring them this Thursday night, along with a few other unique paintings we received about the same time. Most of these paintings were collected 40 years ago. They range in price from $250 to $2500.00 and include works by Pueblo Indian artists, Navajo painters and even a few Plains pieces.

A few by artists who never became well know are included, such as a beautiful small Pueblo style painting simply signed W. Aquilar.

There is a great etching by famed Hopi Kachina carver Neal David.

Some of my favorites are outstanding pieces by Navajo Artist Harrison Begay, paintings by Ohkay Owingeh (formerly known as San Juan Pueblo) legend Geronimo Montoya and a simple painting by Jerry Ingram of a “ Man in a Flag Shirt.”

It is a wonderful collection of art, all framed professionally, that I think you are going to enjoy.

We are also going to show an acrylic painting done on a sand background by deceased Navajo artist Bobby Johnson. It may be one of his best works.

Another outstanding painting, “Maybe They Lost Their Hobbles”  by legendary Navajo artist Jimmy Abeita that was done during his prime painting period in the 1970’s will be shown for the first time!

It is going to be a wonderful show and a great night. Please join us Thursday from 5 until 8 pm.
